Hello! My name is Nancy, and I'm excited to be a part of Jubilee Church's mission trip to Sri Lanka from July 29 to August 5, 2026.
Last fall, I had the incredible privilege of serving on Jublilee's first mission trip to Sri Lanka, where I saw God clearly at work in Nuwara Eliya. I witnessed believers fervently worshipping and seeking God's active presence in their lives, despite living in a country where Buddhism, Hinduisim and Islam make up over 90% of the population. Our team really bonded, especially as we faced challenges together and learned to depend on God together. God was also changing me. It was on that trip that I finally understood the true meaning of grace as God's precious gift, not earned by my performance and might.
I still wrestle with the temptation to rely on my own strength. As well as with anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Those struggles haven’t disappeared, but in the midst of them, God has given me a peace I never had before. Again and again, He gently reminds me, “I’ve got this. I’ve got you.” I want to return to Sri Lanka with a deeper trust in God and all that He can and will do.
This year, our team will be serving in Kandy through several different ministries. We'll be leading a Children's Ministry program as well as a large Youth Rally. Both will be centered on the theme 'Jesus Loves Me', and we hope to encourage young believers to remember that they are deeply loved and cherished as children of God.
We'll also be hosting a Pastor's Conference, serving pastors and church leaders who face great adversity as they share the good news in Sri Lanka. We will also spend some time painting a local church as well as worshipping, praying and fellowshipping with a local community in Kandy. Our prayer is that everyone we meet can experience the joy of God's never-failing, everlasting, overflowing love.
