Dear Friends and Family,
I’ve always had a heart to serve the underserved, but this is the first time I’m able to do so with God at front and center, as part of Jubilee Church’s mission team to Sri Lanka this October.
I’m asking for your time to read a little about my faith journey and about the plans for the mission trip, and, if you are able and willing, to support me through a financial donation.
While I grew up in a missionary family, I quickly rebelled and turned away from God for most of my life. Things seemed great at first, but eventually I ended up in a dark and long period of depression, burnout and breakdown. God led me back with patience, love and incredible grace, and I was baptized last year at Jubilee!
I’m stepping into this opportunity by faith, trusting that God can use each of us (even me!) to be part of His great work.
We will be supporting the ongoing church ministries in Sri Lanka by doing activities with groups of Sri Lankan children and youth. We hope to share God’s unconditional love with them, and remind them that He is an ever-present light in the darkness.
Part of our time in Sri Lanka will also be spent supporting, walking alongside, and praying for the Sri Lankan pastors and ministry leaders who are faithfully sharing the Gospel in a country where only 7% of the population is Christian. These on-the-ground workers face great adversity and challenges, and we hope to encourage them as they continue to kingdom build in Sri Lanka.
We will also roll up our sleeves and do some renovation work on one of the churches in Nuwara Eliya.
I’m so excited about what God has planned for this trip. Will you be a part of this mission by praying for our team, the work that will be done, and for the people of Sri Lanka?
If you are also able to make a donation to help pay for travel and ministry expenses in Sri Lanka, I would be very appreciative for your support. Donations can be made in Korean won or US dollars via jubilink.com (tax receipts available).
Thank you for reading this, and for your love and support. I can’t wait to share with you about the amazing way God has made Himself known to our team and to the people of Sri Lanka.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. – I Thessalonians 5:11
With love,
Nancy
