On March 11, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan off the Oshika Peninsula of Tōhoku. The result was a massive tsunami that devastated coastal towns and crippled a nuclear reactor in Fukushima. The estimates are hard to believe:
* 12,157 deaths
* 15,496 missing
* cost over $300 billion, the most expense natural
disaster in history
Citizens, governments, NGOs are doing their part to help rebuild the country and the lives of those affected. What will the Church do?
First, we are called to pray. It's the one resource of unlimited supply that can move mountains and move hearts.
We're also called to give and share, to reach out to our brothers and sisters in times of need. Our testimony is to be one of word and deed; our fruit being proof of the unwarranted grace given to us.
Your donation will go towards CBI Japan through our partner Michael Oh. This unrestricted gift will give them the flexibility to adapt to uncertain conditions and maximize the efficiency of the distribution of funds. Dr Oh has recommended that funds be used for both physical and spiritual needs of Japan to cover immediate and long term projects.
Please join with us in praying for and tangibly giving to God's work in Japan.
