2 Chronicles 7:14 "...then will I forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Hello all!
For the last few years I have been blessed to serve as a member of Jubilee's missions teams. Last year for the first time I joined with 9 other brothers and sisters and went to Sumatra, Indonesia to serve with missionaries sent from Jubilee Church (Ryan and Carolyn) and their organization Food for the Hungry. During that time we served with FH's team in several villages near Medan, Sumatra teaching children's afterschool programs. It was hard expressing the love of God in a country that has the largest Muslim population in the world and even more difficult in villages that were populated with Christians because of the division of the people. There was much brokenness and pain in many of these communities. However, man did the Lord work in that place! The Spirit was there to lead us and show that God can do anything in even the most broken of places!
What we thought would be a time of teaching and enjoying time with children, lead actually to a time of healing physically and spiritually. People wanted to be prayed for and spoke openly with the team about their struggles and were open to the Spirit. We as a team were humbled by God's work in that place and as we returned to Korea I prayed for us not to forget God's healing in that land during that short week.
This year God has opened the way for me to join with Jubilee's second team to Indonesia. I am totally blessed and extremely pumped up about how He will work this year in Sumatra. This time around, a slightly larger team of brothers and sisters are going to spend time in a Muslim village (Teluk Meku) and most of the time in a smaller Christian village (Sendayan) where we will teach children's programs, teach hygiene classes (making soap), help build a community center, and train pastors in Sendayan. It's going to be a tough trip but God's got our backs! We have faith that he will train and equip us with all we need!
