Hello Everyone!
I'm really excited to tell you about my upcoming trip to Namyoungju, South Korea for Heartland, 2015. This is the 8th year for our church to be involved in such a great ministry and a group of 15 of us will be going from July 25- August 1. We will be working with local churches and after-school programs to put on a VBS for elementary and middle schoolers, as well as a program for the local youth, many of whom haven't had much exposure to God's truth and grace.
This year I've been showered with blessing upon blessing as God has been working in me to understand and experience the true meaning of child-like faith that He desires from each of us. I never would have expected to work with young children, but God had other plans, not only with my work at a local hagwon teaching 7-14 year-olds, but also through Children's Ministry serving our 3-7 year-olds in the Minis Sunday School class. He's teaching me about His father's heart for His people, especially His children.
I'm both excited and nervous to be a part of this opportunity to share God's love with this future generation. I hope that you would be willing to partner with me, both through prayers, and even financially. We need to raise 7,500,000 won for this trip, 500,000 won for each person. We have faith that our God is a providentail God, and He will provide for this trip and use it for His glory. So, if you can donate, that would be great. If you can pray, please fervently intercede during the days leading up to this trip in preparation for it, and for our time with the kids, that the seeds we plant will bear much fruit.
A few prayer requests:
- For the leaders of this program. That God would grant them strength and discernemtn in putting this program together.
- For the children. That God would be working their hearts, that they might be open to hearing the good news that we will be sharing.
- For the university students who will be volunteering with us. That God would prepare their hearts both to minister and be ministered to through our time with them.
- For spiritual warfare we may encounter. Where the good news is being shared, you know that Satan will be working to place seeds of doubt and fear. Pray for us to combat all that negativity and not be pulled down by it.
- For our team. Strength during the preparation, undending energy during our trip, and open, honest hearts to share with the children, youth, and university students, that they might see the love of God shining through us.
