Hello sweet people!
And~ here I go again ahaha. It's hard to believe that just last year around this time, I had decided to go on my
first mission trip with Jubilee Church. 2012's Heartland was an amazing experience where love, beauty and self
worth were affirmed in my life for the first time. However, amazing as it was, twas also a heartbreaking and
challenging experience. Deciding to go back a second time to Namyangjoo for Heartland wasn't an easy
decision but God has gently shown me that I need to go back.
It's been almost 2 years since I've come to Seoul and God has truly blessed me and shown me his love through
the children in my life. Working with the 100's of kids at work as well as serving in JM (a nonprofit group
devoted to serving the orphans in Korea), God has continuously reminded me that he made my heart
for children.
Heartland is a one week summer camp for the kids that live in a rural area called Namyangjoo. These children
don't have "Seoul privilege" and will have to work extra hard to compete with their peers. .
I know I'm just one person but I hope to bring love, sweetness, fun, and my extra sparkle~~~ to these
kids so they know that no dream is too big :) Everything is possible~!
In a country where status, family, image are major factors in one's future, I hope that through this camp, it can
break that barrier or at least be a stepping stone to breaking that mentaility for these precious children.
The Heartland team's financial goal is to raise 8,000,000 won (roughly 7,000 US dollars) to cover the costs of
supplies (decorations, snacks, shirts, materials for activities, etc.) for the kids. If you feel the pull to help us
financially, we'd be super duper grateful but we'd love to recieve coverings in prayer just as much for:
team unity, abundance of provisions, a heart filled with compassion, grace and love ready to serve.
If you have any questions~ please feel free to contact me :) Thank You!
