Heartland 2010

Fundraising Completed

Go Heartland!

Dear friends,

Hello friends! It‘s been so long I’ve written an email to all of you! Perhaps, this could be my first email to you this year or ever! I am terrible with keeping in touch with people. However, God is teaching me the importance of making effort to connect with people at all times. So, I ask for your forgiveness of my lack of effort in the past and your patience to wait for me to be better at it in the future.

I have been in Korea for a little over 3 years and I have changed immensely through God’s grace. There were great times but mostly very painful and unbearable times that I had to endure. However, as I look back these 3 years of my life in Korea, I am ever so grateful for what God has done for me! I am not the same person 3 years ago but even better!!! Way better!

God has taught me many precious lessons in life, in relationships, about himself and so much more. His involvement in every part of my life has brought maturity in my character, deeper understanding of others, wisdom in his calling for my life and most of all, the grace/love he poured out for me.

So, for the second time in Korea, God has called me to go on a mission trip! My first mission trip was in Cambodia and it was an unforgettable experience. I am very excited to be a part of Heartland mission trip with Jubilee church from August 8th to 13th.

We will be working with about 300 kids from low income /broken homes in a rural part of Korea in Namyangju. We will be doing a VBS program of worship, skits, arts & crafts, outdoor activities as well as English classes. We are so excited and honored to meet the kids to share God’s love through different activities and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I want to ask for your prayers for our team. We only have 4 days left and we still have a lot to prepare. We are meeting everyday at church to put together all the activities and learn the dances to vbs songs to teach the kids.

Please pray ..
1. For unity within our team members. May we all serve one another in Christ and encourage one another in love.
2. For kids to be open to receive the gospel and experience God’s love for them intimately.
3. For our physical, emotional and spiritual strength and rest in the Lord.
4. For God’s glory to be revealed in all things that we do there.

For me…
1. Physical, emotional and spiritual well being.
2.  To experience God’s love in a mind blowing way that’ll bring power, love and self discipline to follow Christ in all the days of my life.
3. I am leading 6 cooking classes for 50 kids (per class) and I am so nervous. I don’t cook or bake at all… so yea, pray for me.
4. Overflowing joy and humbleness in my heart for the kids, team members, staff members in Namyangju.

Also, I still haven’t raised my entire missions fund for Heartland. Financially, I have been going through a difficult time but I have faith that God will provide for this trip.  I humbly ask you to support me for Heartland if God moves your heart. However, I don’t mean to put any pressure in your heart! I need soo much prayer support as well!

If you like to financially support me, you can  check out, www.jubilink.com and click under project (Heartland) . It’s very convenient!

Thank you all so much for reading this through. Thank you guys in advance for your prayers and support! If you have any prayer request, please send me an email! I would love to pray for you! Hope you guys are doing well! I can’t wait to come back and update you on how God worked in Heartland! Love and miss you all!!

Love,
Sammie
