Hey everyone! I was able to join last minute thanks to God's grace. I don't know that he's called me to join him in his work just yet. I know he's called me to enter a love relationship with him. My purpose in joining the Heartland team is to be where God is and see him at work.
The past 5-6 months have been tough. God isolated and took from me from all that I could find joy in. Family, friends, career, relationship, even music. The holy spirt clearly revealed to me the fleeting nature of things in this world. What was revealed to me by the spirit changed me so my hope could only be placed in him. Since this revelation, I've truly repented. I've come far enough now that I no longer wanna go back. My purity has become priority and my renewed faith in Jesus prevents me from tainting it.
I feel I've let go of much to express my love for God through obedience. Lately however, my lonliness has been overwhelming. It's making me uncontrollably bitter at times. I spend 9 hours a day at work. I've tried searching for God's hand at my workplace to no avail, leaving me frustrated and even more bitter. Thank God for his mercy cuz the bitterness doesn't lead me to sin, for I'm convinced sin will only prolong the "suck".
I know God's called me to be in a deep love relationship with him but I can't find him at my workplace. This is where Heartland comes in. When my life is in the middle of God's activity, He'll rearrange my thinking. He'll start to make Himself known to me simply as He would to a child. As I respond to Him in childlike trust, a whole new way of looking at life will begin to unfold for me. Please pray that God unveil and reveal abundantly for us while serving. I realize I'm going as a teacher for the kids. But I go in faith that I'll be taught how to love God by these kids more than the English I can teach them.
