Dear Family and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well. As you know I have been working and living in South Korea for the past year as a English Kindergarten teacher, and how much I have been enjoying my time here mainly due to the community I have found at Jubilee Church. Currently I am serving as a high school youth group teacher at church and it has been an awesome, rewarding experience. Missions and serving has constantly been on my heart and mind and as God’s timing is always perfect, so is this opportunity I have been given to serve in China for a week as an English teacher with Jubilee Church.
I will be serving in China for a week in July working with Chinese and Korean middle school students at an international school that was founded by a Korean missionary. Many of the teachers and youth at this school are Christian as the school seeks to spread and teach God’s word discretely but firmly with faith and love. We will be given opportunities to share about God and the gospel while we are there. We hope to reach out to as many students as we can, as well as the faculty members. We hope to enact God’s love through different coordinated activities and by setting the foundation for lasting relationships.
While serving as a youth group teacher and working with high school students, God has been opening my eyes to how much potential young students have to become men and woman of God who love God and can commit their lives to Him. Seeing how God is able to move in the youth in South Korea, I believe and trust that God can move in the hearts of the youth in China, despite their religious persecution. It would be a blessing if you could pray for my team that we will be able to serve humbly and faithfully, and to share our beliefs and love for God with the students in China. I also ask that you continue to keep myself and my team in your prayers from now, until we depart, to when we return.
