Hello, there.
You are so beautiful.
Not because of what you're wearing today, or the few seconds you spent in front of the mirror,
but because of God, who took your nails and lashings
for your love.
He thinks you are so beautiful.
Here's the thing: God believes the same about the people of Cambodia, who have constantly been in a state of war throughout their rich history (http://www.zum.de/whkmla/military/seasia/milxcambodia.html). These regal, honorable people have been traumatized and left with little to their name. Cambodian women have endured their fair share of turmoil, enough to physically blind them when they recollect the gruesome pictures of their past (http://www.mekong.net/cambodia/women.htm).
Such deep, spiritual needs call for the inner-healing ministry there led by Pastor Jenny Oh. Pastor Jenny will be leading 10 ladies from Jubilee Church in aiding Cambodian women on their road to recovery from a dark, dark past. The Jubilee Team will be training and working closely with Pastor Jenny to be tuned with God's heart for the women, and in turn, His heart for the members of the Team as well.
Which makes me wonder... Who's the real witness? Will it be us, foreigners coming to share in a painful recovery, or will it be the Cambodian women themselves, who will walk through newly opened doors of healing, change, and revival?
This is where you come in. Would you be willing to commit to pray for me and our team? There is no strength like the one of our Heavenly Father's, and I would appreciate your petitioning for us regularly. I deeply covet your prayers for this trip, as we will be tested and tried.
In reference to the inner-healing portion of the mission trip, please pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide us and tune our hearts to His. Please pray for the women, that God would start the healing process even now. Please pray for the team, for unity, spiritual wisdom and spiritual understanding, and protection against all forms of attacks from the temptations of the devil.
The Jubilee Team will also be leading a Vacation Bible School for orphans. Our goal is to make them feel that each and every one of them are uniquely designed and loved. Please pray for the children, that they would not just feel our hugs and hear our encouragements, but that they would open up to God's love, a perfect love for them. Please pray for the team, that we would radiate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Please also pray for the logistical side of things, visas, finances, transportation, etc., that things would unravel smoothly. Finally and most importantly, please pray for God's name to be glorified in all things, for there is nothing better for us, who were built to worship, than to worship our Heavenly Father.
