Cambodia or Bust

Hi Family and and Friends!!!~

As you know, I'm here in Korea. I arrived on February 15 of this year, the exact date that came to mind while in a prayerful place. While facing one of the hardest things in my life, watching my parents suffer from their sicknesses, I felt God's tender push to trust that even more than I did, He loved my Mom and Dad. It was a lesson in  relinquishing all control, to give up the ache and fear in my heart to Him and trust that He could do what I couldn't - heal them. And even though I knew Him as a healer and that the Lord deserved my unconditional trust, I was convicted that I had to demonstrate it as well. That meant putting one foot and then the other eventually out the door.

Knowing my heart, the Lord lovingly assured me to put my fears aside. What could I do but be humbled and obedient?

And by His will, complications with getting my teaching certification, getting my passport back in time, getting money to fund my trip, finding a plane ticket, getting things in order for my parents before I left, ...all these things fell into place at the moments that would give Him the most glory. There was no way I could chalk it up to coincidence or my own works; God had his hand in it and delivered me to Korea. He is a most awesome Father! Jehovah Jirah! Trusting in Him has brought me out of Egypt and so now what more can I do but obey.

So now that I'm here in Korea, I'm here to seek His will for my life and demonstrate obedience. How very hard for someone as hard-headed as me?! Yet I heard His call when at church a women's retreat in Cambodia was calling for short-term missionaries was announced. So now, I am planning to go with a group of ten faithful ladies to Cambodia the first week of August.

In Cambodia, we will be staying in the capital city to help during a Women's Conference set out by Pastor Jenny Oh. We will be also visiting an orphanage and anything else that might come up. As a group we are excited to testify the ways in which God has affected our lives and out of the outpour of love we have received, give some of it back but moreover, I am excited to just do His work in any capacity. Afterall, service is the backbone of what we should do as Christians. We are nothing, if we are not servants to His children first. We must answer His call to represent those who cannot represent himself and feed those who are not fed and love those who are unlovable, acts we should do for all neighbors.

So, in short, the tast at hand is 1. to raise money (as the plane tickets alone are 1,050,000 won) and 2. to pray. No matter your willingness to help financially, what our team needs most is prayer. I know the Lord will provide a way as it is His will to bring heaven on Earth, so regardless of whether you can donate or not, I only ask that if you feel moved to, to please pray for the following:

1. For the Lord to keep a protective hand over our team as we enter a country where religious persecution is still an issue,

2. To be edifying and to form unity as a team so that we are not burdened by interpersonal issues and that the agenda, HIM, remains the main focus,

3. For us to remain a prayerful group and to remember to turn to the Lord when are both troubled and triumphant,

4. For the ladies of Cambodia to have unhardened hearts and be able to accept His healing, and

5. For individual growth and empowerment by Him and not by our own works.

Keep me in your prayers! I'll update you periodically about what's going on in preparation and while in Cambodia. I'll do my best to post lots of pictures via facebook and other mediums but I hope you share in my excitement. We are going to see miracles happen!

Love, love, love,

Youngen
