Dear friends & fam,
On July 24-28, 2017 I will be volunteering at the 10th English Unification Camp (EUC), an English camp for North Korean and South Korean youth. I believe that the future of Korea starts in the hearts of its young people, and God desires reconciliation for this divided peninsula. Will you join me in making this vision come true?
This is my first time serving at EUC, but I have been waiting to volunteer at this camp for nearly four years. The timing never worked out... until now! I can't wait to see how God will move in the hearts of these students, from both North and South. I have hope that God will bring reunification to Korea through this next generation.
As a Small Group Leader, I will be with the students 24/7 for the
entire week: teaching, eating, playing games, worshipping and
praying with them, even sharing the same dormitory. Please pray
for a powerful time of encountering God together!
Specific prayer requests:
1) For UNITY over all the EUC staff and for our hearts to be filled to the brim with God's love so we can pour out to the students.
2) For BOLDNESS in the students to be open and vulnerable with us and with each other, but most importantly, with God. The theme of the camp is "Weapons of War" based on Ephesians 6:11-18 about putting on the armor of God. Let's pray that the students would be equipped with their true identity and calling in Christ!
3) For HEALING and RECONCILIATION over all the struggles and pains these students have experienced. Whether it was escaping across the border into China, or experiencing abandonment, neglect, or abuse from their parents, these kids are coming to the camp with scars and trauma. Let's pray for forgiveness to flow from the cross and to empower the students to experience abundant LIFE in the Father's presence.
Lastly, our team is in need of financial support to make this camp a reality. None of the EUC staff is getting paid to be there. Each of us needs to raise 350,000 won ($310 USD) to cover lodging, meals, and camp programs.
