Cambodia 2015

Cambo 2015

Dear friends,

I am very exited to share my story about my upcoming Cambodia mission trip with my friends here.

This is not my first mission trip, but whenever I go on one, I always end up thinking back to my very first mission trip.
At the time, my parents were non believers and they wouldn't allow me to go on mission trips. I really wanted to go to this particular one and decided to go in secret. But on the day I was to depart my home, drama ensued. My mother and grandmother found out I was leaving and cried out to me in protest. They believed that going on a mission trip meant that I've become crazy for Jesus. Which was not a good thing in their book.
My family's words as they reprimanded me that morning stuck with me as I was on my way to the mission field. I cried during the journey there and kept asking God why everything had to be so difficult. But even though I had a rough departure, God showed me all the goodness of His glory and majesty during the remainder of the trip and even more so after. Mission trips are never easy, but it's the most opportune time for growth and maturity. I grew tremendously spiritually by taking a leap forward and going on that first mission trip of mine.
Today, everyone in my family is Christian. Although they still aren't fully supportive of me going on missions, I can see that they are experiencing God as they listen to my stories and testimonies about my mission trips. I'm very grateful that going on missions has allowed me to lead a missional life in my own home.

This year I am thankful that I was accepted to join Jubilee on a summer mission trip to Phenom Penh, Cambodia from July 26 to August 1. This is my very first trip to Cambodia. I have heard many amazing stories about how God is already moving there and I am extremely excited to go witness His workings there.

My team will be given the chance to serve the children and young adults of an orphanage in the heart of the capital. We hope to share His love along with His heart to not only the orphans but the locals in the area through a summer bible school program, neighborhood outreach treks and medicine distribution.

I would like to ask you to join me on this journey together to Cambodia. You can first be a part of this through prayer.

All of the following need constant prayer and thoughts:

1. The safety and protection of all our team members, the children and staff we'll be working with in Cambodia.

2. That we will be able to shine His light to everyone we meet.

3. That we may find joy and share it throughout all of it.

If you'd like to involve yourself further, you can do so by supporting my team and I financially. We believe that supporting the physical needs of the people in Cambodia is also important in order to help them grow more spiritually. Every little bit helps and donations will be appreciated.

This is a journey that not only involves me but every brother and sister. Let's work together as one body to have His kingdom come to the people of Phenom Penh.

I look forward to seeing how things will unfold and what God has to show us.

Thank you and God bless!
With much of His love,

JinKyung
