Cambodia 2015

Fundraising Completed

Christine is Going to Cambodia!

Dearest family and friends,

I pray that you are all in good health and doing well! I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone by so far. In August, it will be four years since I moved to Korea. (I know! I can’t believe it either!) But as I think back on my time here, I can truly say that God has been so very good. Currently, I am a part-time English teacher at a kindergarten and a tutor on the side as well. I have also recently joined Jerusalem Ministry, a Christian nonprofit organization that works with orphans around Seoul, as a volunteer teacher. However, I am still waiting to be placed in a children’s home. I can’t say I felt specifically called to work with children, but knowing our Father’s heart for the fatherless, I decided to take a step of obedience. And with that same heart, I am excited to tell you that this summer, I will be going on a mission trip to Cambodia with Jubilee Church from July 26 to August 1.

I, along with nine others, will be spending most of our time leading a Vacation Bible School program at Center of Peace Orphanage (COP), a children’s home in Phnom Penh. We will also have fellowship and training with COP youth leaders and visit nearby villages to evangelize and distribute medicine. For more information on COP, please visit www.coporphanage.com.

If you would like to partner with me, I would greatly appreciate your support in the form of prayer and finances. I am fundraising 1,700,000 won (~$1,700) for travel and ministry costs, so if you feel led to, please help a sister out! :) But more importantly, we need your prayers!

Prayer requests:

-For unity within the team and with the leaders at COP

-That we will look to God for our source of strength and not at each other

-That each of us will have a joyful heart to fully serve and love everyone we meet

-That those we meet will encounter the love of Christ in a powerful way

-For smooth logistics, travel, and protection physically, spiritually, and emotionally

-For an ending of corruption, human trafficking, and poverty in Cambodia, along with healing of past scars (especially from the genocide)

Thank you so much for reading this letter, and I can’t wait to share with you the great things I know God will do on this trip. I am so grateful for each of you, and I thank you for being a blessing in my life. May God be gracious to you and bless you abundantly!!

With love,

Christine Chun
