Mar 26, 2015 Update
2015년 3월 26일
Hi everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well. Here is another update from
the Lims. So much has happened since the last time we sent
out an update.
Miles is doing great. He is eating and sleeping well.
He is a very easy going baby overall. We celebrated his 100th
day on Feb.
24th at church with friends from mom's
ministry and church staff. He is already over 4 months old
and has two teeth! Time is flying by...
I am not going to lie. It's been a tough few months for
us. Having three young kids all adjusting to something has
been chaos and stressful. Just the past few weeks, we were
adjusting Jacob and Katherine to toddler beds from their cribs
(yes, Jacob slept in a crib until now!), Katherine adjusting to
school, while we were sleep training Miles in his own room. And
when we thought things were getting better, we all got sick!
It started with Jacob with a runny nose and eye boogers, and next
thing we know, we are all in bed taking antibiotics.
During this time Miles developed a bad case of bronchiolitis and
had to be admitted to the hospital. He was there for 4 nights
and was released with some medication. Alex and I had to take
turns to be at the hospital while the other took care of the two
older kids who were also on medication. Alex also had a bad
throat infection with nose bleeds and bloated red eye. We were
pretty tired and burnt out and had little patience with each
other. We were yelling at our kids way too much and fighting.
However, it's been 4 full days since Miles was discharged and we
can finally say things are settling down and we have found some
peace. Jacob and Katherine are sleeping well in their own
beds, Katherine is doing great at school and the teachers tell me
she is a perfect girl that follows all directions, plays and eats
well, never cries or complains, which is AMAZING since we were
worried about a language barrier and new environment. But she loves
school, is eager to go every morning, and we believe having a
routine has been really good for her. The kids are finally all off
their medication, and Miles is sleeping 12 hours in his own crib!
So the past 3 nights in a row, we had three kids going to bed
at 7:30 and
not waking up until the next morning! HALLELUJAH! This gave
both Alex and I some time to rest and we got our insanity back
and we are doing much better. lol
Adoption update:
We are about 90% done with our paper work. We were hoping we
would finish everything by April
1st, but my physical test came out abnormal- low
white blood cells and trace amount of blood in my urine, that I
have to retake the test in two weeks, which will delay the
process. We also have to translate all Korean documents to
English which is taking some time as well. Thank you so
much if you were one of people that wrote us a recommendation
letter.
Prayer requests:
1. That my physical exam in two weeks will come back normal and
will be the last test I will have to take
2. We will be able to get all the paper work done and finish so
that we will get a court date soon. Miles' birth mom contacted us
to let us know that she will be leaving Korea this summer. We
need to finalize the adoption in Korea before she leaves the
country.
3. Our health- we can't take things for granted. All of our kids
are at an age where they need our attention and assistance.
We need to be healthy! Please pray especially for Alex's
back.
4. Finances. We will be fundraising to cover our adoption
expenses, expected to be between $15,000 to $20,000. If
you would like to contribute, please give at http://www.jubilink.com/en/limfamily.
Donations are tax deductible in the US and in Korea.
Thank you for your prayers and support for our family. We will not
be here without you guys.
Love,
the Lims
