Cambodia Mission Team 2017

Fundraising Completed

Serving for a week in Cambodia

Hello friends and family!

It has been awhile since I have seen many of you! I can't believe how fast times flies, and that I have been living in Korea for a year and half now. I hope all is well with all of you! Many things have happened over the past year and a half, and I would like to reconnect and share with you about my journey.

This past year has been an amazing time of growth. I thank God for the work he has done in me, and guiding me each step of the way. I have grown in confidence, and am learning to step out and use the gifts God has given me, in everyday life. I'm learning more about his love as I go out and experience life, with the freedom I have in him. I continue to enjoy teaching kindergarten. I am always learning from my students; and it is a pleasure to see them grow into their own, and discovering new things each day. I have been blessed with wonderful co-workers and friends, that care about the children and each other. I am also involved on the worship team at church, which I have also gained a new perspective on what it means to lead worship. I'm truly blessed to have a community that loves, and calls me to walk with Jesus in everything I do. Living in Korea has given me the opportunity to discover who I am, and venture out into my passions, and discover new ones. It isn’t always easy; for stepping out, requires letting go of certain things, and moving into the unknown. Each time I have stepped out, its been worth it.

I am very excited to share that I will be stepping out, and going on a mission trip to Cambodia this summer! I have been considering doing  a mission trip in south east Asian for quite sometime. My church, Jubilee, has a big heart for reaching Asia with the love of Christ. As I have gotten more involved with my church community, my desire to do missions has grown within me again. Before hearing about the mission dates, I was hoping that the Cambodia trip would fall on the dates of my summer break. It just so happens, that the trip to Cambodia, is during my one week of summer vacation. I will be going with a team of 6 from Jubilee, July 31st-August 6th!

We will mostly be ministering to children at Christian orphanage, called Centre of Peace (COP), in Phnom Penh.  COP provides a loving home for child from backgrounds of domestic abuse. It is a place that seeks their healing from trauma, and prepares them to contribute to society, while living for the Kingdom. We will be ministering through VBS, bible studies, arts and crafts for the children, and worship. I look forward to getting to know my team, and serving alonside them, and developing relationship with people in Cambodia.

I have been on small short term mission trips in the past, and each experience shaped a little of who I am today. I learned so much from the people I met, and about God’s heart for them. I do not know what to expect for this trip, but I know that God is there, as he is here. I pray it will be a time that I and the team can encourage and just love on these children, with the love that is freely given to us.

I will be paying for half of the trip, and our team will be doing some fundraising. Would you come alongside and join me through prayer and financial support, as we go and minister to these beautiful people of Cambodia?

Things to pray for:

-The unity of our team

-Protection and health

-To be lead by the Spirit and to walk in humility and love

-For the children and staff of COP

-People would encouter the gospel; and God's love and prence

-That I would be humble, teachable, and open to whatever is meant to happen, and not hold onto my own expectations

-At heart of worship and humility as I lead the team in worship, as we prepare to go

Thank you for all your support and love this far! I hope all is well with you, and would love to hear how all of you are doing as well.

Blessings,

Kara
