English Unification Camp 2018

Fundraising Completed

EUC 2018

Hi folks!

I'm Yolanda.  In 2015, I moved to SK on the KGSP with the intention to master a new language by getting out of comfort zone. In hindsight, it was a great adventure to immerse myself in a culture seemingly so similar to where I grew up; but yet so different in every possible way. Since my language studies was based in Seoul, a friend recommended me to a local community called Jubilee Church.

In 2016, I had to move to Suwon since that was where my official campus was based at. Throughout 2016, I felt a tad too self-centred that I wasn't serving the local church as much as I used to. After Christmas, just when I felt God's call to move back to Seoul and serve the local church community, I was physically assaulted by my homestay family. By God's grace and a whole lot of christians' support, I eventually reconcile with the fact that the perpetrator would eventually come to know of who God is in their own time. My part was to forgive the family and moved on with life (even if they were not apologetic).

In 2017, I decided to channel my energy positively by being part of Jubilee's children's ministry. Many of the kids I have taught and learnt from possess so much affection and potential. Just as it humbles me that Jesus knows be my name,  I'm honoured to be able to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the little humans with big hearts.

In 2018, God reminded me of NK. When a friend asked me to join EUC, I was overwhelmed especially since my wallet was stolen. I was honestly, overly distracted in reprimanding myself for not being careful enough. I detested the crazy hassles of remaking new cards and the loss of sentimental valued items. To make matters worse, the 2016 Suwon trauma creeped back and haunted me since I just won the lawsuit in May 2018.

After much contemplation, I felt God telling me to focus on what’s important. Please pray that I would be focused on being good stewards of the talents and gifts He has created me for. Before July 2018 ends, through EUC, I'll have the privilege to teach some students the most important truth they would ever know in their entire lifetime; the word of God.

Kindly support us by:

  1. Upholding EUC 2018 team in your daily prayers. All volunteers come from a range of organisation and background. Please pray for the team’s unity; In kingdom purposes, God always unite us to conquer. The enemy would always plan to divide and conquer us instead. Please keep these 230 middle/high school students in your daily prayer.
  2. Interceding for me to have courage to encourage. I’ll need wisdom in sharing the word. God-breath words into these young minds. These impressionable and direction seeking middle, high school kids really need a touch of God. Fruits which would remain.
  3. Donating. 300 USD/ person is needed to cover the 5 day 4 nights camp. It would cover not just the teachers but students fees. You could donate an amount you are comfortable with through the link above. All donations are tax deductible. Thanks a million!

Thank you!

Xoxo,

Yo
