Time for Love

“Then I passed by you and saw you, and behold, you were at the time for love; so I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness. I also swore to you and entered into a covenant with you so that you became Mine.” declares the Lord God. Ezekiel 16:8

Dear Family and Friends,

I absolutely love this verse and it comes out of Ezekiel 16, my favorite chapter in the Bible. I love this chapter because it is a story about redemption and restoration. It begins with an abandoned child who has been put in a seemingly helpless position. However, a savior comes by, cleans up the baby, and shows it love. Then the baby and the savior develop a loving relationship. This relationship isn't perfect, but the savior always remembered the covenant it made with the child and forgives them.

This is similar to the story of Cambodia. Cambodia, who suffered under the Khmer Rouge less than 50 years ago, is in a similar position as the child in Ezekiel 16. With 31% of the population living below poverty, the sex trade has become an ever increasing form of income. With most families living on around $300 a year, many are turning to selling their own children in order to survive. In an article by NBC's Dateline, they interviewed a woman that said there must be at least 300,000 children working in this trade in Cambodia today. Despite all of this, God is working there. He is redeeming this seemingly hopeless situation and restoring relationships with His people whom He loves very much.

I'm excited to say that I have an opportunity to be a part of God's redemption plan for Cambodia. Though it is a short time, July 29th-August 3rd, my team, combined with the Cambodia based COP (Center of Peace) Orphanage and YWAM (Youth With a Mission), has the opportunity to extend the hand of God to the Cambodian people.

While we are there, we will be interacting with the people of Sihanoukville. Together we will worship, pray, outreach, and serve in the local community there. We will also be ministering to the children and villagers through concerts, prayer, handing out medicine, witnessing and sharing our testimonies.

You too can be a part of God's redemption plan for Cambodia through prayer and/or financial support. By supporting our team, you are enabling us to show Christ's love to the nations and build up His kingdom on earth. If you feel the Lord calling you to pray or support us financially, please donate via Jubilink today. Thanks for all of you support.

God Bless,

Ann
