Support Letter for Cambodia

Dear Church, Family and Friends,

Hello!  I hope all is well with you, and pray that your life journey with the Lord may be daring, but joyful at the same time. I can’t believe this is my fifth year in Korea already, and I cannot tell you how blessed I have been each day. This year, however, the Lord has granted me another special adventure in my life, and I am delighted to share with you about my upcoming missions trip to Cambodia with Jubilee Church.

On a personal note, my past few years of teaching at Hallym University in Korea have been physically demanding on one side and spiritually humbling in another, but very grateful in overall. While teaching at Hallym, I have met many wonderful students and teachers from both Korea and overseas, and God has been reminding me of His continuous love and the special plans He has for His people regardless of their cultural background. He has also been compelling my heart to see how He plans to raise the younger generations both in Korea and at overseas to expand His Kingdom.

This year has been a greater challenge for me, especially since I have begun my MEd program at Torch Trinity while actively involving myself in establishing an international Christian school in Chuncheon. It is one thing to learn how to educate, and it seems like a completely different thing to learn how to become a Christian educator, not to mention the challenges in planting a Christian school. And yet, I am beginning to see a greater purpose of my life as a Christian educator. It has been very exciting for me to witness how God uses different individuals, small or big, in different parts of His mighty work and how He provides for His children.

This summer, I will be traveling with 10 other members from Jubilee to join Pastor Jenny and Bob Oh and their V2R ministry in Cambodia on a short-term missions trip. First, we will be working with Center of Peace Orphanage (7/22~7/27), doing VBS for the younger kids, teaching English and Korean classes, as well as leading the discipleship and prayer with the older youths. We will also participate in Women’s Conference with New Life Church during this time. It is expected that around 900 ~1,000 Cambodian women will be traveling from all over the country to attend this annual event. It will be very encouraging to see the progression of their lives from much pain and oppression to freedom and empowerment. Then, we will be joining the Cambodia YWAM DTS ministry along with three other churches from the States for a massive outreach to the local community in Kampongsom (7/29~8/3). During this period of time, all of the team members from Korea, New York, Las Vegas, L.A., Arizona and Phnom Penh will gather, experience Christ’s love with our Cambodian brothers and sisters, and collaborate in reaching out to the local community with this love. After this, the Jubilee team will return to Korea, but I will be doing an extended stay with the rest of the teams to help out with an outreach to children at Peace of God Church in the slums of Phnom Penh, a possible new church planting with Missionary Phillip, a worship conference which will be funded by Solomon’s Porch Church in Hong Kong and hosted by New Life Church, and the medical missions hosted by Seroeun Church from Korea and New Life Church (8/5~8/12). I am so excited, and I am personally praying that this will be the time to reunite with God in a personal level, as He works in us and through us in Cambodia.

“Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about.  I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News! (1 Cor 9:16, NLT)”

Now, I would like to invite you to join this ministry by supporting us financially and in prayers! Please pray for the followings in particular:

- Pray that the Lord would protect us physically and spiritually.

- Pray that the Lord would transform Cambodia and bring inner healing and hope to the young people (especially for the children at the orphanage to personally experience God’s love).

- Pray that the Lord would unite all the team members and use us powerfully.

But for more than anything else, please pray that each and every team member would have full confidence and dependence on the Lord.

Lastly, I would need to raise about 2,000,000 KW for this trip. If the Lord moves your heart and would like to support me and my team financially, please visit jubilink.com, and find Cambodia 2013 under “Project” section. Jubilink will accept Korean & US accounts via PayPal or Credit Card options as well.

Thanks so much for your love, prayers and any financial support your can offer, and I hope to catch up with you soon and hear about what’s going on in your life as well.

With much love and gratitude,

Janice Lee
