SUPPORT a CBS graduate pastor and his family
Eiji Watanabe and his wife Reiko are parents to 4 boys. The Watanabes are one of the most wonderful families you will ever meet. Eiji will graduate in March 2011 and will pastor a church - BUT WILL RECEIVE NO SALARY. It's a reality for many churches in Japan. Eiji has a pace-maker in his chest to keep his heart beating, so he receives a little government support ($500 per month), but they need about $24,000 per year minimum to support their family of 6. Please pray for them that God will provide for them.
SUPPORT a seminary student scholarship
Assist towards tuition and living expenses for a Japanese theological seminary student at CBS. They represent the future of Japan, and each student is a miracle in a nation of 0.21% Protestants. Seminary families in particular struggle financially as they tend to be quite financially poor in a very expensive country with very little financial earning prospects upon graduation.
Help the library get wired!
We need to purchase computers for the new CBS library for cataloging and also student use. Help towards these purchases.
BUY DINNER for a seminary family
Many of our students are struggling financially and often the families or the couples don't have opportunities to go out to a restaurant or for a day trip. Marriage relations also can become strained during studies when they don't have the chance to enjoy a quiet date. Help support a seminary couple for dinner and a babysitter or help support a seminary family for a dinner out. One of our current families has 4 children and another is expecting their 4th soon.
BUY a BOOK for the seminary library
For our accreditation with the Asia Theological Association we need 10,000 volumes in our library. We currently have about 8,000. Also more theological books are needed for students to maximize their learning opportunity.
